As our Mechanical and Electrical Technician, you will be a vital member of the maintenance team responsible for keeping our factories running (we have 3 and counting!).
You are skilled in electrical and mechanical installation, repairs, and general building maintenance. While this is a dual-role, the emphasis will be on electrical installation and maintenance tasks, as well as setting up new prototypes.
Responsibilities
- Prototype Setup: Install and commission prototype equipment.
- Equipment Maintenance: Perform inspection, repair, maintenance, and upgrading of production line equipment, including conveyors, sieves, mixers, mills, and other machinery.
- Electrical Installation: execute new electrical installations for motors, sensors, ventilation fans, pumps, scientific instruments, and IT infrastructure.
- Routine Care: Conduct inspections as well as preventive, predictive, and breakdown maintenance on electrical and mechanical systems.
- Troubleshooting: Diagnose faults and identify root causes arising from electrical and mechanical breakdowns.
- Collaboration: Work with the Maintenance Engineer to develop a preventive maintenance program for all relevant electrical installations.
- Safety & Organisation: Maintain the identity and labeling of circuits attached to power distribution boards.
- Technical Documentation: Accurately read and interpret electrical schematics, pneumatic/hydraulic diagrams, and equipment manuals. Update maintenance logs and work orders.
- Parts & Inventory Management: Assist in managing the inventory of critical spare parts, tools, and consumables for both electrical and mechanical systems.
- Undertake other related duties as required.
Requirements:
- Language: Able to speak and write in Malay. English proficiency is an advantage.
- Experience: Hands-on experience in factory maintenance is preferred, but fresh graduates are welcome to apply.
- Technical Skills:
- Well-versed in electrical single and 3-phase systems (e.g., Star-Delta wiring connections).
- Capable of designing and executing new wiring layouts for installations.
- Skilled in identifying root causes for short circuits and performing rectifications.
- Ability to troubleshoot motor issues and manage electrical DB box wiring.
